Constitutional Centre Review

In September 2018, a review of the Constitutional Centre's operations recommended several options for creating a more contemporary centre able to meet the needs of students and teachers in the future. Of the options provided, DPC has recommended to Government that the Constitutional Centre remain open with a clearer direction for the future, including re-focusing resources to ensure more students across the State are better able to access information. This will include improving the Centre's online learning materials, increasing onsite teacher training at the Centre and reinvigorating the Centre precinct by collaborating with other not-for-profit organisations to potentially increase the use of the heritage buildings. School visits to the Centre will continue to be offered, with 8,500 school children visiting in 2017-18, however visits from Centre staff to schools will discontinue at the end of 2018 to allow for the new initiatives to occur.
