Public Interest Disclosure

The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003 (the Act) came into effect on 1 July 2003 to facilitate the disclosure of public interest information and provides protection for those who make disclosures and those who are the subject of disclosures. The Department of the Premier and Cabinet (the Department) is committed to the aims and objectives of the Act. The Act recognises the value and importance of reporting as a means to identify and address wrongdoing. The Department strongly supports disclosures by employees, contractors and members of the community regarding corrupt or improper conduct. The Department is committed to responding to disclosures thoroughly and impartially and will treat all people in the disclosure process fairly, including those who may be the subject of a disclosure.

Persons wishing to make a disclosure of public interest information under the PID Act are encouraged to do so in writing. You are encouraged to refer to the Public Interest Disclosure Lodgement form, which may help to define the details of the disclosure.

Should you wish to contact a Public Interest Disclosure (PID) officer please refer to the PID Officer register at the Public Sector Commission's website
