Geraldton Claims

There are 13 native title claims in the Geraldton region many of which are represented by the Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation. Pastoral access is an issue of particular importance in this region. To date there have been two native title determinations in this area.

Negotiations

The State is currently in discussion with one determined native title group to build a streamlined post-determination relationship about future land use, management and development. This relationship is to be formalised through an Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA).
